  1. Introduction to Lean Culture and Five Lean Principles: Overview of Lean philosophy and its core principles.

  2. Three Categories of Work: Detailed explanation of value-added, non-value-added, and necessary non-value-added work.

  3. Overview of the 8 Wastes: Definitions, sector-specific examples, causes, and effects of each type of waste.

  4. Toast Kaizen” Video: Interactive session featuring Bruce Hamilton’s award-winning video to explore the 8 wastes in a practical setting; the number one selling lean training tool in the world!

  5. 8 Wastes Identification Exercise: Hands-on on practice to distinguish between the three categories of work and identify waste in various environments.

  6. Waste Identification Techniques: Methods such as direct observation, time studies, value stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis to identify, categorize, and quantify waste.

  7. Waste Elimination Case Studies and Impact: Real-world examples from manufacturing, support functions, construction, healthcare, financial services, IT, government, and more.

  8. Overview of Waste Elimination Methods: Comprehensive review of techniques and strategies for eliminating waste.

  9. Next Steps: Outline a proven approach for starting and accelerating your waste elimination journey.
