What is Standard Work?
Standard Work represents the current best practices for effectively, safely, and timely completing the steps of a process.
As a foundational Lean thinking method, it eliminates variation and ensures process stability. By removing variation, synchronizing people with processes, and enabling on-time completion of tasks with high-quality, standard work contributes to the creation of a smooth workflow and provides a measurable baseline for continuous improvement.
There is an expectation for standard work to be regularly reviewed and improved, ensuring that processes evolve and adapt to new insights and innovations.
