On April 4, 2023, Itel Laboratories' Lean leadership team kicked off its 6S (also known as 5S, but 6S adds Safety) rapid improvement event by engaging everyone in the "6S Numbers Game," followed by a concise introduction to the benefits and steps of the 6S methodology.
6S Workplace Organization is a collaborative, disciplined continuous improvement process in which workers leverage visual controls to create and maintain an organized, clean, safe, and productive workplace.
The team is tasked with facilitating an improvement event focused on creating and sustaining a pilot 6S system in the company’s warehouse.
Once this event is completed, the team will organically spread the system to additional areas throughout the facility.
